In welcoming the year of 2011, GoodNews Production in conjunction with The Company Studio (TCS) and Homecooking Jakarta presented Benji B, one of the UK’s most respected and influential DJs.

Benji B has his own weekly radio show on the influental BBC Radio 1X playing the latest and greatest music from the entire spectrum of Dubstep, Hiphop, House, Funk, Boogie, Detroit Techno, to Broken Beats. He also has been inviting some of the very best artists to his radio show for interviews and exclusive mixes ranging from Mayer Hawthorne, Theo Parrish, Jamie Woon, Ramadanman, J-Rocc, Mayer, Kanye West, to Dorian Concept. Benji B is the “Deejay of DJ”. He has been dedicating his wide music journey in finding and supporting fine cutting edge music. With his passion for exploring future beats, Benji B has gained attention from the International music scenes that have been inviting him to play in different parts of the world. Apart of what he does with BBC Radio 1, he also runs a monthly event called “Deviation Session” in the east of London, showcasing many famous DJs and producers such as Flying Lotus, J Davey, Africa Hi Tech, Martyn and Skream to Moodymann, Dam-Funk and many more.

Benji B’s first Live DJ Set in Indonesia was held on Friday, January 21st 2011, at Malt, Jln. Haji Agus Salim No. 2, Menteng, Central of Jakarta. Limited Capacity was only for 250 people. Opening Act performed by local DJ Sanjion (The MC), Milspex (24SEVEN), Ebby (MELTING POD), and REI (HOMECOOKING).

GOAL: Benji B Live DJ Set was a special event that thoroughly planned by GoodNews Production and The Company Studio based on the idea to support and provide diversity to Jakarta’s local music scene. Other than introducing Benji B as one of the current influential DJs from the UK, this event was also brought to present three local DJs as The Opening Act that, we believe, would compliment each other’s music. Each of them has individual elevated characteristic in selecting their music that, once again we believe, must to be introduced locally and internationally.

OUTCOME: The event was a major success. Good music, good crowd, and good atmosphere. People were dancing until 4:00am. We hit the target, which 250 people came to experience the show and received coverage from the media that the event was a fresh air to anyone who came.
